Tropicanna

We all know that plants are dynamic, living things, and because we understand so much about our own plants (we carry out trials around the world) we appreciate the subtle differences regarding their growth and habit.

Which is why it’s worthwhile visiting the section of our site which gives you local information – which plants are available; when it’s best to plant, prune and feed them; tips and so on. It’s all here to help you enjoy them more.

Tropicanna
Tropicanna Tropicanna

Introduction

Fabulous exotic foliage would have to make this group of Cannas the most striking ever introduced.

Providing attractive foliage and brilliant blooms, Tropicanna®, Tropicanna® Gold and Tropicanna® Black make stunning backdrops to garden beds and borders. Tropicanna® is also ideal in containers or interplanted with contrasting colored annuals. All three look terrific in ponds and water gardens.

In addition, Tropicanna® is ideally suited for landscapes that require a striking and bold planting. The foliage is a real attention grabber as the uniquely colored leaves begin to unfold; and again when the striking flowers open. The plants quickly establish into clumps, and are great planted amongst perennials or as a backdrop. With the sun shining behind the foliage, the leaves are absolutely stunning with their unique colors

Also, Tropicanna®, Tropicanna® Gold & Tropicanna® Black have been featured extensively in commercial settings such as large display gardens, zoo and park entryways, plus landscaped terraces. Planted out into large containers, they command attention with their tropical colorings.

Grows in USDA zones 7 through 11 without winter lfting. In zones 3 through 6 need to lift for winter.

"Having lived all of my life in the city prior to moving to Bridgewater, NJ, I never cared for any plant life and never expected it to be so easy. I planted my Flower Carpet roses (Appleblossom and Pink) 7 years ago as border around the front of my home. They have been a beautiful addition to my landscaping and virtually maintenance free (I fertilize/weed protect beginning in spring only) and have added beautiful color and fragrance to my property. I am now planning to add more around the sides of my home as well. I am so happy I chose these wonderful roses!"
