Festival Grass / Companion Plants
We all know that plants are dynamic, living things, and because we understand so much about our own plants (we carry out trials around the world) we appreciate the subtle differences regarding their growth and habit.
Which is why it’s worthwhile visiting the section of our site which gives you local information – which plants are available; when it’s best to plant, prune and feed them; tips and so on. It’s all here to help you enjoy them more.
Festival Grass ™ cordyline. Stunning in large pots on the patio, deck or in the garden
Close up of the beautiful ribbed foliage of the Festival Grass® cordyline.
A sculptural performer, Festival Grass® takes the modern desire for bold architectural plants into a stunning color palette with its dramatic glossy bronze red foliage. Plant Festival Grass® in a single row against a wall or in a courtyard and simply mulch with contrasting pebbles or over stones for a stunning statement. Festival Grass® also provides a strong accent point when planted in the garden in warmer climates. In severe cold regions you can achieve the same impact by planting Festival Grass® in a large container so it can be brought inside during the Winter period. For large or small gardens of architectural form, plant Festival Grass® with New Zealand Flax, yuccas and interesting grasses. Grey foliage provides a complementary foil to Festival Grass®. You can achieve this effect through planting groundcovers such as Lambs Ears or Snow in Summer, small and medium shrubs such as artemisia, lavender and dwarf blue conifers, or a larger background shrub such as Butterfly bush. Always keep Cordyline Festival Grass® in mind when you need a single accent plant in a paved area or courtyard. With its tough nature and ability perform well in a pot, combined with a dramatic standout shape, this plant is a natural for those superstar locations.
