Tropicanna / Hot Tips
We all know that plants are dynamic, living things, and because we understand so much about our own plants (we carry out trials around the world) we appreciate the subtle differences regarding their growth and habit.
Which is why it’s worthwhile visiting the section of our site which gives you local information – which plants are available; when it’s best to plant, prune and feed them; tips and so on. It’s all here to help you enjoy them more.
- Plant Tropicanna where sunlight or bright light will shine through the leaves, the colors become “electric”.
- Don't plant Tropicanna in a strong wind environment - they always look best with other plants in a protected area. Continuous strong winds will rip the leaves.
- These plants are so adaptable! They do very well in water, in fact they are perfect for a water garden. Just place the plant (pot and all) directly into the pond, it doesn’t matter if the pot is totally immersed under the water!
- Tropicanna foliage can be used for cut flower arrangements – and they will last LONGER than any other flowers (up to 3 weeks). They look spectacular and we are seeing these used more and more in exotic arrangements.
